It's called Graphic Fetish and it's a great site for ideas on design, illustration ideas, tutorials, photography and more. Check it out and let me know what you think. If you are a Facebook user, you may want to "like" UNH Printing and Mail Services. They are a great resource.

Photoshop Guru Bert Monroy
Many of you have heard me talk about digital artist and Photoshop guru Bert Monroy. Some of you also had a chance to see him with me in Boston a few years ago. Whether you had that pleasure or not, you should check out Bert's podcast site, Pixel Perfect with Bert Monroy. It's a great way to enhance your Photoshop skills.
Here's the latest, Create a Photo Drawing in Photoshop:
You should also take a look at Bert's artwork created entirely in Photoshop using filters, shapes, etc. They are truly magical.

Packaging web applications as mobile apps using Dreamweaver CS5.5
From the Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Center and Jon Michael Varese:
"Dreamweaver CS5.5 now includes integration with PhoneGap—an open-source development framework for building mobile apps. The integration between the two is seamless, and you do not need to know anything about PhoneGap to take advantage of its functionality.
The Dreamweaver/PhoneGap integration lets you quickly deploy your web applications as native apps for Android- and iOS-based mobile devices. (A native application is one written to run on a specific operating system/device.) The PhoneGap framework acts as an API bridge between web applications and mobile devices. It helps you wrap web applications within mobile apps, even if you aren't familiar with coding languages such as Objective-C or Cocoa.
This tutorial shows you how to package an existing mobile app built in Dreamweaver. It does not show you how to build that application from scratch, nor does it show you how to deploy the packaged application on a mobile device. Those topics will be covered in other tutorials, scheduled for later publication." Read on......

New Website You Should Check Out
I found a new website for you Photoshop/InDesign buffs. The site is graphicdriver. This site is unlike most sites I recommend. Most of the cool stuff comes at a cost. They do have freebies. The image to the left is one of them. You do not pay anything to become a member and the form to get started is quick and easy to fill out. What it does have is a list of templates, etc. that come at a very small price. For example, you are trying to create a brochure, but have no idea where to start. You can buy an InDesign template for around $6. Now, you are buying the template for one time only, but for that price, I consider it a great deal. The templates are complex and vary widely by design. You can also buy a vector image for a presentation - again it is a one time only deal, but a high quality vector image for $3 is still a steal. Check out their site and let me know what you think.

How to Automatically Change Your Default Printer Based on Your Location
From How to Geek and Mike Toepfer:
Windows 7 has a ton of great features, most of which are really obvious—but there’s also some great features hidden away that you might not know even exist. One of these is that Windows 7 can automatically change your default printer based on which network you’re connected to.

How to Isolate and Save Vocals Using Audacity
Mike Toepfer sent me this link about removing music from vocals that I think you will find interesting. The same rules apply for removing the vocals (karaoke) and saving the music, just done in reverse. Thanks Mike!
Ask a CS Pro: All About InDesign Styles (Part 1 of 2)
As you know from my previous post, I follow InDesign on Facebook and the following webinar was announced on the page and I thought I would share it with you. Join in if you can. I think it will be well worth your time. InDesign is an amazing program and often users don't use it to it's full potential. Here's a way to learn how:

Never found a use for InDesign styles yet? Or perhaps you’re comfortable with Paragraph and Character styles but you haven’t quite figured out what nested styles, grep styles, or object styles are about. In part one of a two part webinar series, Senior Product Manager Kiyo Toma will lay the foundation for styles in InDesign, including why styles are important for every designer, an overview of Paragraph, Character styles, and Nested styles.

About Kiyo Toma
Kiyo Toma is a Senior Product Manager with the InDesign product team at Adobe Systems. He's been involved in design, publishing, and technology for 23 years, setting his first line of type on a 512K Apple Macintosh computer.
While mastering early versions of Quark and Pagemaker, Kiyo eventually tired of washing toner and developer fluid from his hands and focused his career on technology. He then proceeded to learn a number of markup languages (HTML, SGML, and XML) but just as he was tiring of typing angle brackets, he was lucky enough to find employment at Adobe Systems, where he has been working for 13 years.
Hope to see you there!
